Hair salon treats elderly

CARLSWALD - Tangled Hair Salon at Carlswald shopping centre gave five elderly ladies a hair and nails treat.

The five women had their hair and nails done by staff at the salon courtesy of sponsorship from MorrocanOil, Gossip and a snack from Mugg and Bean Carlswald. One of the organisers, Shireen Abu Baker, said the salon owners decided to do something for community members. “We wanted to make the ladies feel great and feel taken care of,” she said.

Joan Watton heard that the salon was looking for elderly women to treat and she organised some ladies she knew. “I am excited that we are here getting new hair cuts and having our nails painted – we feel pampered.”

Thoko Kani from Gossip provided goodie bags for the ladies. She said, “A lady always has to look good, the bags are for them to use.”

Taryn Sumpton of MorrocanOil said, “MorrocanOil chose to be involved in the event due to the ongoing client relationship we have with the salon.”
