Motivational talk for students
MIDRAND - In celebration of Women's Month, Varsity College Midrand hosted a Woman in Power motivational talk.
Guest speakers included TV presenter Elizabeth Ranoko, African Star Communications director Farah Fortune, and former Miss South Africa Tansey Coetzee. The speakers told of their humble beginnings with business ventures and personal ambitions that they pursued. They encouraged students to focus on their studies to build better lives, and to achieve their dreams.
First year public relations student Sanelisiwe Tembani said, “It was an honour to have the opportunity to meet African Star Communications director and founder Farah Fortune. She is one of the women I look up to.”
Vice-principal Eike Truter said the purpose of the motivational talk was to empower and motivate female students, making them aware that woman-power exists. “What an honor it is to spend time celebrating Women’s Month with such amazing women. Their stories of resilience have paid off hugely.”
