City power explains power outtages

One of the residents, Krishil Bridglall said, “Since the beginning of August on Fridays, Phoenix View Estate and Phoenix Regent Estate have had power failures from 6am till 11am. I tried to find out from City Power but they were not helpful.”

Another resident who wanted to remain anonymous said she was “thinking of moving because of the consistent power failures when she needs power most”.

City Power spokesperson Sidney Mphahlele said,”On 8 August and 25 August there was a power failure due to cable theft. That was the case in May too but on 15 April the estates had power failure due to a faulty fuse.”
