“He died a painful death”
MIDRAND - A friend of the late chef Daniel Nxumalo has told Midrand Reporter of the shock at hearing about his murder.
Nxumalo’s body was found on Richards Drive in Midrand near Gallagher Estate. He was allegedly hit with bricks. Police said he was found with his head and ears bleeding. Chef Jeff Schueremans said he and Nxumalo had been living in his property and they worked together. He said, “We were also part of the TV show Bring and Braai together and he had other jobs he did within the hospitality industry.
“I heard his car was still parked at the scene of the crime when police found his body, only his iPad and phone were stolen. The crime in this country is shocking.”
He expressed that if the criminals had wanted to take something from Nxumalo, why kill him?
Nxumalo will be buried on 8 November in Daveyton.
