Suspect arrested, other suspect still on the run

MIDRAND - A man was arrested and charged for armed robbery that took place on the N1 South in Midrand on 2 December.

Johannesburg Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said, “The suspect robbed four women and two men at gunpoint at 8pm on 2 December while they changed a flat tyre of a Toyota Avanza.”

Minnaar explained that two suspects got out of a white Corsa and robbed the victims. “Six cellphones and wallets were stolen. Metro police happened to pass by and saw people lying on the side of the road. Police fired shots at the two suspects, but no one was injured. One suspect was arrested, while the other suspect escaped. Three cellphones were recovered.”
