Alleged lover beaten, suspect arrested

Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said the incident took place in Rabie Ridge in the middle of the night on 9 December. He stated, “Community members said the suspect went to the alleged lover’s room and beat him up with a steel rod. Residents stopped the man from beating the victim further and the victim was taken to Tembisa Hospital with severe injuries.”

Nhlongo explained that the suspect heard from his friends that the victim was always seen with the suspect’s girlfriend and they were lovers. Nothing has been reported about the woman alleged to have had an affair. The suspect will appear at Thembisa Magistrates’ Court soon.
