Councillor Lamola’s festive season message
WARD 110 councillor Stephen Lamola's Festive Season Message:
The festive season is a time to spend with our families, but so many children in our communitites come from child-headed homes. As much as the festive season is about family, it is also about having a sense of community and showing compassion. Remember the needy and those who will spend the holidays alone. Show them love and give them a reason to believe in the good spirit of Christmas. Rabie Ridge does not have orphanages, but we have a lot of old age homes. Take time to visit the old this Christmas and make them feel loved. As we all enjoy the festive season, we should not forget that criminals do not rest. If your neighbour goes back home for the festive season, keep a watchful eye on their property, show Ubuntu.
Pedestrians, if you drink, stay away from the road.
Many thanks to City Parks for the new park in Mayibuye. The community is enriched by it and we have residents who take turns taking care of the park to make sure that no one uses the park for drugs and to litter. This will also be a good place to spend time for anyone who may not be going back home this Christmas.
Have a Merry Christmas and a great new year.
