New fun car boot market

MIDRAND - The Vorna Valley Neighbourhood Market has introduced the car boot market.

The market’s representative, Al Karaki, said the concept is popular in South Africa and United Kingdom, but it has never been formalised in the Midrand area until now. Karaki explained, “People can load their unwanted items in the boot of their car or bakkie, drive to the secure area of the market, book a stall and sell their unwanted books, baby stuff and gardening tools.”

Community organisations will also be at the market, which will be launched on 14 February at the Midrand Swiss Club. Karaki said markets are an exciting and safe way of selling and buying privately. “Selling privately at home lures criminals as assaults and armed robberies occur when criminals pretend to be buyers and visit people at their homes,” he said.

Food and beverages are on the market’s prohibited list and are not allowed. To check the complete list go to www.midrandmarket.co.za
