Boy killed after hit by motor vehicle

The child is believed to be aged between 6 and 9.

Russel Meiring of ER24 said paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg Central branch arrived on scene and found the child lying in the middle isle between the two roads.

“On assessment, paramedics found that the child had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the child and he was declared dead. The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped without injury,” said Meiring.

He said paramedics were unable to identify the child or to contact his parents or guardian.

“Local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” said Meiring.
