Fire victims receive food vouchers from Carlswald Spar

CARLSWALD - DONATIONS have recently come through for three families that were displaced by a fire on Anne Road.

One of the displaced people, Shadrack Manzini, said he was thankful for the temporary accommodation, but they still have to arrange long-term accommodation. “We don’t have to worry about food for now, thanks to Spar. Residents have also helped us a lot,” he said.

President Park Residents’ Association member Karen Harris said, “We would like to thank Carlswald Super Spar for donating grocery vouchers. And also the residents’ association for donating kitchen utensils, blankets, couches and clothes to the three families.”

Dirk Odendal, owner of Carlswald Super Spar said, “Since the families have no fridge, we decided that they can come in anytime and buy food using vouchers as often as they need to, to the value of R2 000.”
