Motorist crashes into people sitting on pavement, injures all

MIDRAND - SIX people were injured in an accident on Seventh Road near Midway Mews in Midrand.

The driver lost control of her vehicle and hit six people who were sitting on a pavement.

EMER-G-MED spokesperson Danielle Dooley said paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle had knocked over five people and then crashed into a fence.

She said, “Patients, including the female driver, sustained minor to moderate injuries. EMER-G-MED’s A01 transported two patients to Sunninghill Hospital. Another three patients were taken by other service providers.” The 6th patient reportedly refused hospital treatment.

One of the women sitting on the pavement was still under the vehicle when paramedics arrived and was later freed.
