New Jerusalem Children’s home commemorates Youth Day

PRESIDENT PARK - New Jerusalem Children's Home commemorated Youth Day on 16 June.

The home’s public relations officer, Patrick Emorhokpor, said the misconceptions shared among young people today with regard to the meaning of the Youth Day and how it has come to be remembered were addressed.

“New Jerusalem chief executive officer, Anna Mojapelo, addressed young people about the importance of commemorating the Youth of 1976,” said Emorhokpor.

“A lot of young people came to the home from the community and schools to celebrate Youth Day and take part in discussions around education and career exposure on Youth Day.”

On the day, soccer and drama were part of the entertainment for the Youth Day guests.

The home would like to thank young people from the community and New Jerusalem children who took part in the Youth Day events, as well as all companies and organisations that shared in the career exhibitions to encourage young people to pursue careers after they finish school. The career exhibitors included paramedics from Emergency Management Services, Midrand police, social workers, BSG Consulting and many more.
