Imbaula claims two lives in Ivory Park
IVORY PARK - Emergency Management Services responded to a call after smoke inhalation from a brazier claimed the lives of two people in Ivory Park on 24 June.
EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said, “A woman and her two-year-old son died of severe carbon monoxide inhalation. The husband and the other child, an 8-year-old boy, were treated on the scene and later taken to a hospital for further medical care.”
Mulaudzi stressed that people must not use imbaula, known as braziers, in areas that are not well ventilated and must not leave the fire burning on while they are sleeping.
