According to Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, spokesperson for Ivory Park Police, there were a number of illegal immigrants inside one of the station’s holding cells.
The suspects damaged the bars of the holding cell and tried to escape but were caught by police inside the station.
Police from the Tembisa cluster were called in to assist.
