Deppe speaks about deceased police officer

MIDRAND - Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe recently spoke about the passing of the Midrand police officer who was killed in a hit-and-run on Olievenhoutbosch Road when a motorist plowed into church members.

Deppe said, “I knew Warrant Officer Josia Lamola for nine years. I once visited the ZCC Church on his request to come and meet with the church elders on a municipal issue.”

She said Lamola asked her to find out if the City of Johanneburg could install water for them on the church stand, as church members need water while attending services.

“Unfortunately as it was an agricultural piece of land with no services from the City, the water issue was not addressed,” she said.

“I am saddened by the loss of Warrant Officer Lamola.”

Deppe sent her condolences to his family.

“He was a good man and did great work for Midrand Saps.”
