The Mayibuye Sports Forum donates fruit and veg to elderly
MIDRAND - The Mayibuye Sports Forum, an organisation for sports in Kaalfontein and Mayibuye, Midrand, recently turned its hand to more than just sport when it donated fruit and vegetables to two elderly residents in Mayibuye.
The two residents received a fruit and vegetable gift from the forum to see them through the winter. The forum’s chairperson, Mike Tshipu, gave credit for the generous donation to the local shop, Mayibuye Fruit and Veg.
“I would like to thank their management for their generosity, and to my colleagues, who not only delivered the vegetables but also spent time with the two elders, Elisabeth Mokoena and Daniel Gashene.”
Tshipu excitedly reported that the two were ecstatic upon receiving their gifts. “They were very surprised and happy when we arrived.”
The forum also extended an invite to their community to join their various sporting codes. “We have netball, soccer, volleyball and even a chess team that anyone can come and join,” said Tshipu.
