UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in N1 accident
MIDRAND - A pedestrian has been knocked down on the N1 North before Allandale Road.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Danielle Dooley has confirmed that a man was knocked over near the Allandale off-ramp.

“Tragically the patient had succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on scene by the crews,” Dooley said.
EMER-G-MED’s A09 transported the patient from the vehicle that hit the pedestrian to hospital, for further observations.
“The man ran across the highway for unknown reasons, when he was struck by the vehicle,” Dooley explained.

At this stage it is not clear how the pedestrian was hit. However it is believed the accident occurred some 20 minuets ago.
Reports suggest that traffic along the route has been severely affected.
