Help police find rapists

IVORY PARK - Police are looking for a man who allegedly raped a 25-year-old woman in Kaalfontein Ext 1.

The victim told police that she was walking with her mother in an open veld and the suspect was following them. The suspect caught up with the two and pepper-sprayed them in the eyes. He ordered them not to scream, searched the victims and robbed them of a cellphone.

Ivory Park police spokesperson Neldah Sekgobela said, “It is alleged that the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, undressed her and raped her while he was holding a knife in his hand threatening to kill her if she screamed.”

Meanwhile, Sekgobela said another rape took place in July in Kaalfontein Ext 1 in an open veld where the suspect hit the victim with an unknown object and raped her while she was unconscious. The suspect has not been arrested yet.

Police are appealing to women to be vigilant at all times, and avoid walking in bushes where criminals can take advantage of them. Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects can contact Ivory Park Police.
