Four car pile up on N1 South

MIDRAND - Traffic was brought to a standstill earlier this afternoon on the N1 South, near Allandale.

Ten people, including three children between the ages of 2 and 7, were injured this afternoon after a 4-vehicle pile up on the N1 South after Allandale Road in Midrand.

Just before 1pm EMER-G-MED, SANRAL and other services responded to the scene.

According to EMER-G-MED, it is believed that a bakkie broke down in the middle lane, two cars had come to a stop to go around it – when a taxi rear-ended them.

Seven passengers from the taxi and three passengers from the car were injured in the collision – all sustaining minor to moderate injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries on-scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

JMPD were on-scene to investigate accordingly.
