City pays tribute to fallen firefighter
MIDRAND - The N1 South by New Road was temporarily closed to traffic on the morning of 14 June as members of City of Joburg Emergency Management Services paid tribute to the life of a fallen firefighter.
The firefighter, Tebogo Thobodi, was killed while attending to an accident scene on the N1 highway near New Road at 5am on 5 June.
He had given 12 years of service to the City, and had medical, fire and rescue experience.
The City said, “His footprints and legacy will remain in our hearts.”
Thobodi’s colleagues laid wreaths at the site where he tragically lost his life.
