BREAKING NEWS: 12 vehicle pile-up on N1 south in Midrand

MIDRAND - A number of emergency services were on the scene of a horrific motor vehicle accident on the N1 south after New Road onramp in Midrand on 17 August.

Spokesperson for EMER-G-MED Max Cohen said, “Paramedics are on the scene of a multi-vehicle pile-up, where three trucks and nine cars have collided on the N1 south after the New Road onramp in Midrand.

Though the exact cause of the collision is currently unclear and will be investigated by the relevant authorities, emergency services arrived at the scene to find one person had sustained serious injuries that required advanced life support care. Six others sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Spokesperson for Netcare911 Athlenda Mathe said, “Those that required further medical care have been transported to various hospitals in the area. Traffic has been affected.”
