I am always on the street fighting crime – new station commander

MIDRAND – Rabie Ridge Police Station's new station commander is ready to tackle crime in the area.

Rabie Ridge Police Station recently appointed a new station commander.

Colonel Molefe David Tsotsotso, who started at the station on 1 September, has taken over from the previous station commander, Colonel Phostick Maoto who was deployed to Daveyton Police Station.

Tsotsotso, who describes himself as a man always on the streets fighting crime, was previously stationed at Tembisa Police Station as commander of Vispol. He has been in the police service since 1991 and looks forward to working with the Rabie Ridge community.

Speaking about crime, Tsotsotso said, “The area is faced with problematic crimes such as housebreakings, which are alarming and are fuelled by the drug problem in Rabie Ridge. Drugs are being sold from homes, police will need to address that problem.”

Tsotsotso also said theft out of motor vehicles is a growing issue in Rabie Ridge and he and the members of the Rabie Ridge Police Station will work hard to curb this. He urged the community to continue working with police to fight crime in the area.

Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson, Captain Mofama Masela said, “Members of Rabie Ridge Police Station are proud and happy to have a young and fresh-minded new commander at the helm. He is a field worker by nature and has already set standards for his [police] members that they must reshape themselves in order for them to meet a new standard to end crimes that are increasing in the community.”
