A renowned former soccer player and TV soccer analyst has been released on bail after being arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife on 15 December.
The 54-year-old was apprehended by the Olifantsfontein police on 15 December for allegedly beating up his wife. He was charged with common assault and appeared before the Tembisa Magistrate’s court on 16 December. He was released on R1000 bail and is expected to appear again in court on 31 January next year.
Spokesperson for the Olifantsfontein police Constable Mokete Serakwana confirmed that the famous soccer analyst was arrested for a domestic violence offense. “I can confirm that he was arrested and charged with common assault. He was released on bail under certain conditions and will appear again before court in January,” she said.
