Adorable ‘nine lives’ up for adoption

Midrand SPCA has placed six of its cats up for adoption on 12 March and is calling on the community for support.

Brenda Lucas from the SPCA said the facility has a lot of cats and is hoping that some will be adopted soon by residents who love animals and especially cats.

Before an adoption is approved, a process takes place whereby the adoption applicant’s home is visited and assessed on whether or not it’s conducive to the particular animals they want to adopt.

Many homes have dogs and not all dogs can live in the same space with a cat, therefore such behaviours and animal safety are considered before the adoption is approved.

“Most of the animals that end up at the SPCA are strays or animals which were brought in for different reasons,” said Lucas.
