Attacq is the company responsible for the development of Waterfall City and Mall of Africa. Midrand Local Economic Empowerment Forum is demanding empowerment for local SMMEs.

Both parties have been engaging in meetings over the past two months in attempts to forge a working relationship.

However, talks between them proved futile after Attacq allegedly failed to commit to a 30 per cent clause for all contracts.

The Midrand Local Economic Empowerment Forum is expected to deliver a memorandum of understanding to Attacq limited soon.

The Midrand Reporter is trying to get comment from Attacq.
