#GautrainStrike: Midrand station closed this morning, services suspended

MIDRAND – Commuters are forced to turn back and find alternative transport.

As the #GautrainStrike continues, the gates at the Midrand Gautrain station were closed at 9am this morning, 13 August. Trains were working from 5.30am until 9.40am but the service has since been suspended.

Commuters are forced to turn back and find alternative transport. Midrand Reporter’s Lungile Dube, along with journalists from other media houses, also turned back after security guards said that they are not aware of a press briefing, which was meant to take place today.

Currently, only employees are allowed entry into the station. According to security guards, trains will be available again from 3.30pm to 7pm.
