TAKE NOTE: Evacuation drill at Mall of Africa standard procedure and ‘no cause for alarm’
MIDRAND – Mall of Africa confirms that a drill evacuation took place at the premises this morning, 17 September.

Mall of Africa confirmed in a statement that a drill evacuation took place at the premises this morning, 17 September.
The drill forms part of standard safety procedures and is a key requirement of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
“Evacuation procedures are carried out on a regular basis to ensure the highest standards of operational safety and crisis preparedness,” the statement read.
Johann Fourie, general manager of Mall of Africa said, “Today’s evacuation drill was standard procedure and no cause for alarm. The drill went smoothly and all processes were correctly followed.”
Trading continues as normal.
This drill comes two weeks after a bomb threat at the mall on 29 August.
