PICS: How potholes in Joburg are filled

Chris Hooman, the CEO of Jetpatcher explains how potholes are filled using the Jetpatcher technology which will make it quicker and less physically taxing to repair potholes. Hooman explained that once the pothole has been drilled into, the process of filling it will only take about five minutes.

The Jetpatcher uses a high-pressure blower to remove any debris and coats the pothole with an asphalt emulsion which seals the pothole and prevents further damage from occurring due to moisture.
Aggregate is then poured into the pothole mixed with an asphalt emulsion.
After the pothole has been effectively sealed and filled, a light layer of dry aggregate is applied to the patch, preventing the patch from adhering to car tyres prior to the emulsion fully curing. This is then rolled.
