Baby is abandoned in a bag on the streets of Kaalfontein

TEMBISA – The Tembisa Child and Family Welfare Society seeks assistance from the local community following the discovery of an abandoned baby.


The Tembisa Child and Family Welfare Society is calling on the local community to assist in finding the parents of an abandoned baby.

The child was found on the street in Kaalfontein Ext 2 by a local community member. The baby was without clothes and covered in blood in a bag with adult female clothes.

The police were called to the scene and the baby was taken to the Tembisa Hospital where he received treatment. The Tembisa police have also opened an abandoned child case, but no suspects have been arrested yet.

Since the child’s admission, no one has come forward to claim the child and the child welfare calls on the local community for assistance to find the baby’s parents.
