MIDRAND – Here is a highlight of some of the most jaw-dropping crimes which took place in and around Midrand over the past 12 months.

- Tembisa smart school robbed of over R500 000 worth of equipment
Khulasizwe Primary School in Tembisa was robbed of several types of electronic equipment on 21 November. Read more here.
- Anonymous tip-off leads to dead body
The Rabie Ridge Police Station officers attended a murder scene at Kanana near Rabie Ridge after being called by community members reporting a dead body. Read more here.
- Hawks arrest suspects with rhino horn
Two suspects were arrested for the possession of rhino horn on the N1 South in Midrand on 17 September. Read more here.
- Midrand suspect attempts to use app-based taxi services to dispose of a woman’s body hidden in a garbage bin
A 27-year-old man had allegedly murdered his sister’s friend at their Midrand apartment, thereafter attempting to dispose of the body in a rather unconventional manner. Read more here.
