Pedestrian critically injured in collision on R55 in Olievenhoutbosch
OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH – The female pedestrian sustained numerous injuries and was in critical condition.
ER24 paramedics responded to a collision on the R55 in Olievenhoutbosch on 27 February.
Spokesperson for ER24 Russel Meiring said their paramedics arrived on the scene just before 3pm, “[They found] a woman, believed to be in her 20s, lying in the middle of the road. A bakkie was found parked a short distance away.”
The woman was treated for numerous injuries she sustained in the collision and was provided with advanced life support interventions before being airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital for further care, Meiring added.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigation, the driver of the bakkie was not injured.
