Officers from the Midrand Police Station have arrested a suspect for shoplifting in Halfway House.
Spokesperson Sergeant Matome Tlamela, said that the incident occurred at a local clothing store when the complainant noticed the suspect walk into their store to exchange a T-shirt.
The complainant told the suspect that they couldn’t exchange the shirt because it was wet, and the customer agreed and continued shopping.

Tlamela said that the complainant alerted local security officers to watch the suspect as they had grown suspicious. The suspect remained in the store and repeatedly tried on clothing in the store.
When he was done he attempted to leave the store and immediately the security sensors bleeped.
The suspect was apprehended by the security until he was detained by the Midrand police and charged with shoplifting.
