Police in Rabie Ridge nabbed six suspects for the possession of suspected stolen goods on 19 March.
According to the Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson, Constable Jacob Nhlongo, at about 5.30pm, members of the Crime Prevention Unit were busy with their patrols when they spotted a big, packed truck in a yard in Austin View.
“When the officers stopped to find out what was happening, the officers found five males and one female busy offloading groceries from a truck branded as one of a well-known courier truck company,” he explained.
“Because it was obvious that the premises where they were offloading the goods was not a business premise.
“Our officers then asked the driver to give them an invoice allowing them to drop off goods there and the driver failed to produce the document.”
Nhlongo said that all six suspects were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen goods and detained at the Rabie Ridge Police Station cells.
He concluded, “All arrested suspects will appear in Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.”
