Rape case registered against Rabie Ridge victim’s boyfriend
RABIE RIDGE – Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson Jacob Nhlongo said that members of the community who are sexually abused should report such unpromoted behaviour at their nearest police station by calling 10111 or using the my SAPS mobile application.
A man was arrested by the Rabie Ridge police for allegedly raping his girlfriend at their home in Kanana Ext 4 on 2 April.
According to the Rabie Ride Police Station spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo, the 29-year-old woman reported that she was sleeping, when her boyfriend knocked at the door around 11. 30pm.
The woman opened the door for him and thereafter went back to bed.
Nhlongo said the boyfriend then went out of the room minutes later and came back with a firearm. He then allegedly pointed the firearm at her before instructing her to take off her clothes. It is alleged that the suspect then raped the woman and apologised afterwards.
“A rape case was registered at the Rabie Ridge Police Station and the man was arrested. The suspect will appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon,” he said.
Nhlongo reminded community members who are being sexually abused to report these cases. “Wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends or anyone who is sexually abused should report such behaviour at their nearest police station by calling 10111 or using the My SAPS mobile application.”
