Ivory Park Police arrest suspected marijuana dealer

IVORY PARK – Police said that they are ready to deal with any lawbreaker.

Local police have arrested an Ivory Park man for the alleged dealing of dagga.

According the Ivory Park Police Station spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane, the 62-year-old man from Ext 7 in Ivory Park was arrested after a tip-off on 13 April. “Local police, acting on a tip-off, descended on the address and found the man busy sorting out his marijuana for distribution in his locality.

“The suspect is expected to appear at the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon to answer to the charges levelled against him.”

The station commander Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, warned other dealers in the area that, despite the challenges associated with the Covid 19 epidemic, police were ready to deal with any lawbreaker.

“We, therefore, continue to call on people to report on any crime they get to witness during this lockdown,” concluded Ngcobo.
