Two men were arrested for the alleged possession of suspected stolen goods.The Rabie Ridge Police Station arrested the two men in Phomolong.
It is alleged that the two male suspects were pushing a trolley filled with suspected stolen goods on 22 July.The spokesperson for the Rabie Ridge Police Station, Constable Jacob Nhlongo said the two men were questioned after community members called the police station to report the matter.
“We received information about two males pushing a trolley with a sound system at Phomolong Section near Mthimkhulu Street at around 7pm in the evening.
Nhlongo added, “Upon arrival, our police officers spotted two men matching the description as reported and approached them. As they conducted a search, the police found speakers, a car battery and an amplifier.”
He said that the two men were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and would appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon.He also extended his gratitude towards the community for being the eyes and ears of the police and not taking matters into their own hands.
“Rabie Ridge Police Station would like to thank the community for helping us fight crime by giving us the information of people breaking the law.”
