Teen reports case of rape
RABIE RIDGE – Spokesperson for the Rabie Ridge Police Station, Jacob Nhlongo, said the man would appear in court soon.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on 3 August after allegedly having sexual intercourse with a minor who is also a tenant at his house in Rabie Ridge.
According to Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo, the victim, a 15-year-old girl, came with her mother to the station to report the matter.
“She [the victim] explained to her mother that she has been sleeping with an adult male since she was 14 years of age,” said Nhlongo.
He added that the suspect convinced the victim he was giving her advice about boys and allegedly told the girl that he wanted to prepare her for the future when she got a boyfriend. “The sexual intercourse continued after he had sex with her again on 4 January this year.”
Nhlongo said the accused told the victim that if she ever told her mother, he would chase them out of his place. “The accused was arrested and detained at Rabie Ridge Police Station. He will appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon.”
