Over R50k raised for Botshabelo
BEAULIEU – The participants of the Redhill Ride, Run or Walk were able to raise R53 100 for Botshabelo.
Staff and their families of Blue Hills-based orphanage Botshabelo, got together to take part in the Redhill Ride, Run or Walk.
The event was organised by Fedgroup and Redhill School. The managing director of Botshabelo, Michelle Henrichsen said the virtual event was hosted on 26 September and gave participants the opportunity to choose their activity, distance and route with the their donations going directly to Botshabelo.
Henrichsen added, “Botshabelo gathered a few staff members and their families and did a 5km walk through the Beaulieu Estate on Saturday morning, complete with prams and puppies. It was a great way to get moving and make a difference at the same time.”
In the end, the virtual event raised R53 100 from more than 400 participants.
“The money will be used to help us support and train preschools in impoverished communities in this Covid-19 landscape.
“And our greatest need right now is formula and toiletries for our babies, and Dis-Chem vouchers to purchase medicine and other baby items.
“A huge thanks to Fedgroup and Redhill for their generosity, creativity and kindness to support Botshabelo through this event. We are grateful for every participant too.”
