Rabie Ridge police are searching for a school transport driver who allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Austin View.
According to the Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo, on 19 September a complainant reported that her daughter was allegedly raped by her school transport driver.
“The complainant said that she received a call on 17 September from her daughter’s school,” said Nhlongo.
“Teachers told her that her daughter reported to them that her transport driver forced himself onto her and raped her.
“Upon arrival at her daughter’s school, the mother told the police that her daughter confirmed that the driver [allegedly] raped her in the afternoon after school on 16 September at a lodge located in Austin View.
“She [daughter] explained that she and the driver were in the presence of two other males and two females. When they arrived at the lodge, the four passengers went to buy alcohol inside the said lodge leaving the victim and the suspect behind in the vehicle, the suspect then forced himself onto the victim.”
Nhlongo added that a case of rape was opened which was being investigated and the suspect had not yet been arrested.
