Ivory Park schoolgoers face possession charges

IVORY PARK – Captain Bernard Matimulane confirmed that all suspects appeared in the Tembisa Magistrates' Court on 6 October.

The Ivory Park police arrested four suspects on 5 October for an alleged robbery.

According to the Ivory Park Police Station spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane, the four suspects were arrested in Ivory Park shortly after they had allegedly robbed someone of their cell phone in Ebony Park.

“They were found with 10 cell phones, some of which are suspected to have been robbed too, and an unlicensed firearm. According to our investigative findings, the owner of the firearm is from Lekaneng. All four suspects are still attending local schools.

“All suspects appeared in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on 6 October and were charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. “
