The Midrand police arrested two suspects for possession of R2 000 worth of drugs on 21 October.
Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station, Sergeant Matome Tlamela said the arrest was made during a stop-and-search operation conducted by the police along with private security companies in Vorna Valley.
She added that the suspects were arrested at Le Roux Avenue in Vorna Valley at 9.30pm when they noticed a suspicious red Volkswagen Golf with four occupants. During the search the police noticed a number of ziplock bags containing white substances identified to be khat and cocaine.
Two of the occupants were arrested and charged with possession of an illegal substance. They were immediately detained at the Midrand Police Station before their first court appearance.
Tlamela thanked the crime prevention unit, sector managers and tracing members for their commitment.
