A man was shot dead at the Kanana Sports Ground on 29 October.
According to the Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo, the victim shot is a known adult male, about 43 years old.
Nhlongo said, “It is alleged by an eyewitness that around 8.30am the victim was seated on a bench at the sports ground when two males approached him and started having a conversation with him. Suddenly gunshots were fired.
“It is alleged that the victim, who was shot 10 times by unknown suspects, is an alleged drug dealer known to many, and on the day he was supposed to meet with his supplier.”
Nhlongo assured community members that police will not rest until they find the killers. “We would like to thank our community for the information they gave to us. We will make use of it to crack this murder case open.”
He concluded, “If anyone with any information that can lead to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects wants to come forward, we ask that they do come to the Rabie Ridge Police Station or they can call 011 310 0410.”
