Mobile Zoo visits Christ Church

NOORDWYK – Christ Church Preparatory School and College received a special visit from Pretoria Mobile Zoo.

The Pretoria Mobile Zoo paid a visit to learners in grades 1 to 3 at Christ Church Preparatory School and College on 12 November.

The primary focus of the mobile zoo is conservation and to educate children while having fun. Manager of the zoo Peet Snyman said, “What makes our visit really unique is that we allow children to handle most animals and we insist on personal attention, thus we would rather repeat a demo as many times as required, ensuring that everybody gets the time and attention they need.”

The presentation included the children interacting with animals as diverse as hedgehogs, a leopard tortoise, a chinchilla and even a bearded dragon.

Spokesperson for the school Dawn Schmitz said, “Children do not always realise how much knowledge they gain as we create a unique opportunity to learn, to see, touch, feel and play.

“The mobile zoo is a family run business. The Pretoria branch is run by Peet Snyman who has a love for the outdoors and animals. He is a certified trainer and can communicate with young and old alike, with a special sense of humour to create a truly unique and special memory.”
