New forum is launched to help businesses
WATERFALL – Midrand Business Forum secretary Pamela Mkosana explains that Ward 132 Midrand Business Forum was an arm of the Region A Business Forum.
Business enthusiasts from Midrand Ward 132 recently launched a new business forum for the area.
Ward 132 PR councillor Majasana Maringa, who was representing the Speaker of the City, Nonceba Molwele, delivered a message of support on behalf of her as well as Region A Business Forum chairperson, Terrence Dzeli, management committee members, and local business people and members aspiring to be a part of the newly launched forum.
Midrand Business Forum secretary Pamela Mkosana explained that the Ward 132 Midrand Business Forum is an arm of the Region A Business Forum. She added that given the complexity and vastness of Johannesburg and Midrand, it was agreed that wards establish their own forums under the umbrella of Region A Business Forum.
“Ward 132 is one of the fastest growing regional economies in the Gauteng province. The ongoing developments and business activities in Ward 132 require a dedicated forum of the ward, with more emphasis on local entrepreneurs,” she added.
Mkosana said the purpose of the forum will be to champion greater access to business opportunities for local small, medium and micro enterprises. The forum will accelerate participation of business entities in and around the ward to participate and engage the City of Joburg and private companies.
“This will include setting enterprise and supplier development models aimed at placing and capacitating businesses around the ward to grow in the ongoing developments around the ward.”
On the day of the launch, an interim committee was adopted and affirmed as the board committee and management committee and they will occupy their positions for two years volunteering until the next election of the forum’s executive committee.
