Christ Church College takes on Beaulieu College in a competitive chess encounter

NOORDWYK – Christ Church College was pleased to see the improvement in play among their learners at the tournament in comparison to last year.


The Christ Church College chess team took on Beaulieu College in their annual chess tournament recently.

Head of marketing at the school Dawn Schmitz said, “It was wonderful to see how well the chess team has progressed over the last year, following dedicated coaching from the staff and passion from the pupils.”

During their previous encounter with Beaulieu College, the school only won one out of 25 games. This year, of the 25 games played, Christ Church College won 12 and Beaulieu College won 13.

“This fantastic improvement is as a result of our five-year action plan to improve all spheres of our sports and culture. Well done to all our chess players,” said Schmitz.
