Midrand SPCA grateful for donation
MIDRAND – Bosch Home Appliances handed over a donation of R7 500 to the animal welfare organisation.
The Midrand SPCA was grateful to receive a cash donation to contribute to their expenses on 28 May.
Staff from Bosch Home Appliances handed over a cheque for R7 500, which they raised from their Two Legs for Four Legs run. Throughout April, staff from Bosch participated in the initiative where every staff member was encouraged to run or walk to raise funds for the SPCA.
Bosch Home Appliances communications manager Elizabete Nelson said the initiative was tracked on the social platform Strava which enabled each individual to track how much they walked or ran. “For every kilometre completed, BSH donated R5 to the SPCA. In the end, the BSH team managed to clock up 3 000km and raised R15 000.”
She explained that they decided to split the money between the Edenvale SPCA and the Midrand SPCA. “The effects of lockdown and Covid have also significantly affected our furry four-legged friends as many have been abandoned due to difficult financial circumstances.”
Pamela Pretorius, the general manager for the Midrand SPCA shared her gratitude for the donation.
The Midrand Reporter highlighted the SPCA’s need for donations in the article SPCA desperately needs your help [Week ending 28 May]. Pretorius highlighted that while all donations are much appreciated, they need cash donations in order for them to cover expenses.
