Botshabelo Babies Home would like to extend their appreciation to the community of Midrand for their unwavering support after they helped raise much-needed blankets to keep many children warm this winter.

As reported previously in Botshabelo hopes to keep kids warm this winter [Week ending 14 May], the non-profit organisation had called on community members and businesses to help them raise 270 blankets as part of the Botshabelo Blanket Drive for preschool learners in Olivenhoutbosch. The project turned out to be a great success.

Mosa Lehana, who is part of the organisation’s fundraising team, said for the past few weeks they have been collecting blankets for preschools they have partnered with in Olievenhoutbosch.

Lehana added that they were happy to inform the community that they had collected 200 blankets to help keep the children warm this winter.

“On behalf of Botshabelo, we would like to take the time to thank everyone for supporting these children with their generous donations.

“It’s their support that allows us to do what we do. Thank you for being part of these children’s stories.”

Lehana concluded by saying that more events were in the pipeline and would soon be announced, depending on the current circumstances posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Community members would have the opportunity to make a difference again and for those who have not, this would be the perfect time for them to begin giving back.
