A 29-year-old man was sentenced to three years direct imprisonment on July 30 after being arrested for committing housebreaking and robbery, and theft in Kyalami.
According to Midrand Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Thabiso Selowa, the accused, Daniel Murima, was found in possession of stolen property including a 9mm volt battery, electric cables, bathroom copper pipes and two geysers at the time of his arrest.
She added that Murima was arrested by Midrand police officers on July 27 with the help of a local security company. “The suspect was arrested for theft and housebreaking and was sentenced to three years direct imprisonment after appearing in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on July 30,” Selowa said.
Selowa said Midrand Police Station would like to applaud investigating officer, Sergeant Kholofelo Letsoalo who secured the conviction.
