MIDRAND – Siyajabula Soccer Freestylers' coach Emmanuel Khoa said that his players were ready to take on league teams after their great performance.

Midrand’s young soccer stars – the Siyajabula Soccer Freestylers junior teams – hosted the Rising Stars Sports Club from Cosmo City on September 11 at Noordwyk Secondary School.

The two clubs’ U5s to U7s were the first to start the games with Siyajabula drawing 2–2 against Rising Stars, followed by the U12’s match where Siyajabula lost 2–0 to Rising Stars and the U10’s who ended the match day on a high note with Siyajabula winning 3–1 against Rising Stars.

Siyajabula’s coach Emmanuel Khoza welcomed his club’s efforts saying his boys were improving and that he could not complain. “They are ready to take on the teams in the league and yes, they have learned a lot since the lockdown crisis as we gave them drills to do at home. They did good.”

Rising Stars coach, Chris Igbankwe also shared his views on the day, adding that the games were good.

“[It was] not really a bad game from the young kids because they’re still developing, so we do not really expect much from them. When we play games likes these we try to identify gaps so that we can help them improve,” Igbankwe said.

He concluded that thus far from the first to the last game, the young men and women showed some good technicality.
