Be on high alert this festive

MIDRAND – The Midrand Police Station has deployed more resources to curb criminal activities this festive season.

As it is a known fact that criminal activities increase around the festive season, Midrand Police Station has urged residents to remain vigilant and tighten their security.

Midrand Police Station Acting Commander Colonel Hosea Mantji advised, “We plead to everyone to not leave their valuable items exposed in their vehicles and to not forget to hide their banking pins when withdrawing money.

“To the groups of stokvels, we advise that the sharing of money be done electronically in order to avoid the withdrawal of large amounts of money that might lead to robbery or activities of theft.”

Mantji said those who wanted to buy in bulk should consider paying with their bank cards.

“Do not expose your identity documents or details to people who may be standing on the road as some will act as if they are selling products or policies when in actual fact their intentions are to commit crimes through your identity details.

“As Midrand police, we are very concerned for the safety our community and the citizens of this country which is why we have increased the resources to address crime and ensure crime can be curbed.”
